In Argentina, 34 Indigenous peoples are legally recognized with the right to maintain and practice their traditional medicines under National Law No. 23,302. While some legal frameworks offer protection for Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM), full integration into the national health system remains limited. TCIM practices persist mainly through individual and community-driven initiatives that often hold semi-formal roles within the healthcare system. Research efforts in Argentina primarily concentrate on the phytochemical and preclinical analysis of medicinal plants, with less emphasis on clinical integration. Although educational programs on traditional medicine are expanding, further development is needed. A notable example of integration is the Intercultural Health Center Raguiñ Kien in Patagonia, which combines biomedical care with Mapuche traditional medicine. Additionally, the Integrative Medicine Group (IMG) at Garrahan Pediatric Hospital in Buenos Aires exemplifies institutional interest in TCIM approaches.
