Coleção: WHO Global TM Summit

The BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) Taskforce was established in June 2020 to foster racial equity within Integrative Health. It aims to address the impact of structural racism in healthcare institutions, which often perpetuate inequity through white-dominant leadership and lack of diversity. In February 2021, the taskforce became a standing committee of AIHM. The committee recommends that AIHM commits to considering equity and racism in all future decisions and dismantling policies that perpetuate inequity, including racial, LGBTQ, and disability-related disparities. This commitment to racial equity is central to AIHM’s values and effectiveness. The organization emphasizes the importance of diversity in leadership, faculty, staff, and membership, and believes that addressing both environmental and social crises is key to creating long-term change.
