Several strategic initiatives have been developed in collaboration with PAHO/WHO to strengthen the role of Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) in public health. The Brazilian Observatory of Integrative Oncology promotes evidence-based practices in integrative oncology alongside partners such as IARC-WHO, PAHO, and national cancer institutes from the USA and Brazil. A regional strategy for integrating TCIM into pediatric healthcare is being developed across 13 countries. The Pan-American Compendium of Medicinal Plants compiles clinical and toxicological data on native plants from 11 countries to support public health initiatives and national pharmacopoeias. In evaluation and monitoring efforts, AI-supported clinical record systems are used to assess the cost-effectiveness of TCIM interventions, in collaboration with BraveNet (USA), Australia, and South Korea. Research education programs are training new researchers in innovative TCIM methodologies, while the Knowledge Translation Center on TCIM produces scientific communication materials targeting health professionals, managers, and the general public. Additionally, a public repository offering access to 1,500 systematic reviews on TCIM topics has been created in partnership with BIREME/PAHO.
