The Instituto de Investigaciones Fármaco Bioquímicas (IIFB), established in 1988, conducts multidisciplinary research in Biochemistry and Pharmacy, with a strong focus on the study of natural products derived from Bolivia’s rich ecosystems. Its main research areas include Pharmaceutical Chemistry (AQF), Pharmacology, Microbial Biotechnology, and Molecular Biochemistry. Within AQF-IIFB, researchers investigate traditional Bolivian medicinal plants, performing chemical analyses and in vitro studies on antiparasitic activity, aiming to develop new oral and topical antiparasitic formulations. The associated poster highlights the institute's research areas, laboratory equipment, microscopic images of parasites such as Plasmodium spp. and Leishmania donovani, and the antiparasitic products obtained through their research.
