In the South-East Asia region, more than 3/4th of the population in countries use traditional medicine and practitioners for health care. A recent publication from WHO’s SEARO highlighted the work done by countries and WHO between 2014 and 2019 to strengthen traditional medicine in the region. This publication provides descriptions of the systems of traditional, complementary and alternative medicine in the South-East Asia Region. It also includes country profiles as well as case studies on a range of topics related to traditional medicine practices and practitioners, education and research, manufacture and regulation, and data and indicators.
