The president of NIKOM outlines its mission to promote the Korean medicine industry for public health and economic growth. As the sole public institution dedicated to traditional Korean medicine, NIKOM leads the implementation of the Fourth Comprehensive Development Plan, integrating Korean medicine into the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This includes developing databases, commercial support systems, and clinical big data resources. Efforts continue to standardize practices and strengthen scientific methodologies for Korean Medicine Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs). The CPG director highlights three core functions: developing and validating guidelines, supporting clinical research, and operating the National Clearinghouse for Korean Medicine (NCKM), which offers public access through a dedicated web portal.
